In traditional manufacturing industries, there are inevitably some high-temperature production environments, such as metallurgy, iron smelting, and casting industries, etc., where the temperature is extremely high. These industries have a common feature, which is the application of electricity, and the transmission of electricity requires cable equipment to maintain its normal operation. However, the outer skin of ordinary wires is made of plastic, which will quickly melt when encountering high temperatures, and may even cause combustion when the temperature is too high. Therefore, this kind of firesleeve that can withstand high temperatures has emerged.

1. Understand fireproof sleeve

Fireproof sleeve is made of fire-resistant materials and flame retardants. It can be sleeved on the outer wall of a hard plastic drainage pipe to prevent the fire from spreading through the pipe. It is also called high-temperature-resistant sleeve, silicone rubber glass fiber sleeve. It is made of high-purity alkali-free glass fiber woven into a tube, and then coated with organic silicone rubber and vulcanized. After vulcanization, it can be used for a long time in the temperature range of -65℃ to 260℃ while maintaining its soft and elastic properties. The synthesis of special high-temperature-resistant materials determines that the fireproof sleeve has many characteristics that other similar materials are difficult to replace: high-temperature resistance, thermal insulation and heat insulation, flame retardancy, electrical insulation, chemical stability, weathering resistance, cold resistance, water resistance, oil resistance, ozone resistance, voltage resistance, arc resistance, and corona resistance. Especially its safety and environmental protection properties make it the best alternative product for hazardous products such as asbestos.

2. Types of fireproof sleeve

There are many types of fireproof sleeves, such as straight tube sleeves, buckle sleeves, and wrapped sleeves, etc. They all have their own uses, and they are all protective products used under different working conditions.

Straight tube sleeves are generally suitable for protecting short or relatively straight pipeline sections, such as automotive wire harness generator sets and other lines. When installing a straight tube sleeve, just remove one end of the cable and directly sleeve the sleeve from one end. Therefore, it is very convenient and widely used.

Buckle sleeves are generally used in large smelting equipment or in metal high-temperature hoses. They have a high-temperature fire-resistant Velcro strip at the opening inside, and when installed, there is no need to stop the equipment or disassemble the cable. Just tear the fireproof sleeve in the middle and sleeve it onto the pipeline, then stick it to achieve sealing and insulation. It does not affect equipment production and saves installation time.

Wrapped sleeves are mainly used for high-temperature protection of irregularly protected objects such as valves and curved pipelines. They are easy to wrap and dismantle, and are also suitable for outdoor high-temperature pipelines such as natural gas pipelines and heating pipelines to reduce heat loss.
